A comprehensive upgrade and refurbishment of key water management infrastructure on the River Ashop. The works are designed to improve operational control, monitoring accuracy, and resilience of the system feeding into Derwent Reservoir.

Upgrading 9 manual penstocks with Rotork actuators.

Desilting and debris removal upstream of the impounding structure.

Installing a new ultrasonic flow gauge with hard-wired telemetry.

Replacing the V-notch weir plate controlling diversion to Derwent Reservoir.

Maintaining existing infrastructure for compensation flows.

New power supply provided by Northern Power Grid.

Refurbishing and calibrating gauging station E3-02B.

Installing a 4G network for flow signal transmission to Bamford.
